Rear windshield / hatch wiper - inoperative

The wiper on the rear hatch of my Touring does not operate when I press the switch. Is there a common failure point on these?

Start with testing the switch, find that it works well. Move on to removing the entire wiper assy for testing. Find out that both work fine independently and just give up.

Or you know, diagnose the failure in between.

You can take it out and clean it. Generally it gets gunked up from 25 years plus old grease. Pretty common problem.

Good advice. Mine would only swipe one time when I engaged the button. Took the motor apart, de-gunked it and re-lubed it. Works great now.
