    Just got me an E28

Picking up my first E28 tomorrow. My dad only drove E28s my whole childhood, so im very excited to make her my own.

    Details:

    1984 533i
~210K on the clock (broken odo/spedo, how do i fix or swap?)
    5 speed
    LSD
    sunroof
    dark tan interior
    aftermarket stereo, sounds good

    Bronzit :(

only pic i have right now

So far the only issues are the paint color, and the paint is chipping on the hood...will need to be re-sprayed or i need to find a decent bronzit hood.

Wheels are ARE 5spokes, never seen any like them before. Cant tell if i like them or not.... I will post pics tomorrow after i wash her and drive all afternoon. I am really excited. Now I need to find an Mtech 1 trunk spoiler, and maybe new wheels. Any other suggestions to set its appearance off a little? I need some points to make up for the bronzit.

oh noes! 533's management is terrible. I never had any luck with the two 84 533's i owned.

on a side note, you have a light weight flywheel that 535 guys want.

Great pick-up!!! Also, your sig makes it difficult to browse this thread at work.

Welcome to the sickness, and I would do an M30B35 swap if I were you.

I may have been couting the chicken before it hatched....the seller although we made a deal yesterday, may have flaked!

Anyone in the Kansas or Missouri area know of an E28 for sale? I have cash and will buy ASAP.

deal is back on...are 533s really that bad? I drove it yesterday and it was nice and smooth, reved it out to 5k a few times and it pulled hard like it should.

They aren't bad. Just the fuel management is dated. A M1.3 conversion would solve those problems and make it run a shitload better w/better economy, power band, etc.

how much of a PITA is the conversion/part sourcing?

Not bad, IIRC. I did it on my B34, before I swapped in a B35. Honestly, the best, best thing you can do is swap in a B35. I have a B35 w/M5 clutch and M5/533 LTW flywheel. It is fast.

The link I posted above is the easiest way to source the parts. I pieced mine together from local enthusiasts/online.

Edit, added info: 533 specific info.
