Idk if it's the overflow tank. It comes out of the overflow line past the cap, so I'm praying it's not a headgasket. gonna pressure test it tomorrow.
Got the locks figured out for the most part. Now need to figure out the central locking system
Dents are probably getting pulled next week, if I remove drivers lock cylinder that door will be going in to get some new sheetmetal under the keyhole.

Only problems I have encountered so far would be a slight pulling to the right (steering box or tie rod, idk haven't had time to check yet) and a tendency to puke a little coolant after a high RPM run.
What I would like to do is bring it back to a more aesthetic M5. Right now the rough interior needs a lot of attention, as well as several dings and dents on the outside. Apparently someone attempted to steal this car; there is a small 3/4" dent/hole underneath the driver's door keyhole from what might have been a chisel. Glass moonroof does not retract into roof, track needs to be adjusted. Driver's side rear door lock is inop, unknown cause.
All in all, this is a place to keep my ass on track and show some photos. Any input is appreciated, I figured this was an opportunity to own a legend. Onto the pics
Pulling to the right would probably be a result of bad tires or bad alignment, maybe a sticking caliper.
The puking problem is definitely the coolant reservoir tank cap, make sure you get the 1.4 bar.
Good luck man, make sure you do a valve adjustment, http://www.e30m3project.com/e30m3per...adjustment.htm, and join MyE28.com.

      Welcome to the S38ickness.

Oh, and get a Bentley manual.

Not sure about alignment issue, it seems more pronounced at lower speeds around 45mph.
Overflow cap replaced, no more puking. Moonroof fixed, shade track was all bungled up and needed to be removed. Any ideas on where I could get a good re-upholstery done in NJ/SEPA? I have a beat but complete OE interior, currently running black sport seats from a donor e28.
Bunch of new seals on order, valve adjustment as soon as the semester is over.

Thanks! I would like to throw some Euro bumpers on it, but probably going to keep it US spec for the sake of finances. I might pick up a parts 535is, has saddle brown sport seats, depending on how much it costs to re-upholster. We'll see how it goes.

How much did you get it for?

                          Awesome! Thanks!

I paid 6200 for it. Might be a little on the high side, but I knew the owner personally.

Didn't realize it had a euro grill/headlamps. If anyone knows a good upholstery shop in the NJ/PA/NYC area, hit me up please

You think that's high? I think that's very fair for a running M5 without any issues.

yea a little bit, but I can't lowball a friend. It runs pretty good, but there wasn't a whole lot to go on in the paper records department.
I think a front suspension rebuild will be in order this summer. Just got my MGB on the street so now this takes priority
