I'm ruining the car by upgrading the headlights ? Yes they are slightly slanted but it doesn't affect the beam. They are an upgrade from factory and I like them. Obviously they aren't a direct bolt in. I made what I had work. I know I'm not going by factory standards so that upsets you. And you can't bare to see that.

They're crooked. So the beam will be affected. And since they are US ellips. They have a flat cut off. And now that they are in there at a slant, it will look like / \ lol. And where are your turnsignals?I'm ruining the car by upgrading the headlights ? Yes they are slightly slanted but it doesn't affect the beam. They are an upgrade from factory and I like them. At least it's an even slant and not a lazy eye. The car is a little sad. That's all

i see this thread taking a direction much like the last one.
You are still getting quite defensive at any criticism, even though a few people here have complimented your car.
In your first post you said you want to see what everyone thinks, so here goes mine: E12s in general are awesome, I love E12s, in fact, I owned one, and I wish I never sold it. However, the headlights do look quite off and crooked, which takes away from the car I think. Euro lights (and grills) would look awesome I think.
Here's my E12 I had:
Also, I suggested this in the last thread, but your car would look much better with E38 style 5s. They are the best wheel hands down for E12/E28 imo because they are plentiful and cheap, and look very good. Here are a couple of my E28s with E38 style 5s:
Also, if you want cheap decent suspension, I suggest retrofitting coilovers. This sounds cheesy, but I heard that Nissan 240SX coilover springs on ebay are the right size and rate for an E28 (and maybe E12), and cost all of like $45 for a set, and that includes hats and adjuster sleeves. But heck, for $45? Can't beat that. here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-240SX...sories&vxp=mtr

you aren't upgrading anything.............. the lights aren't even aimed, as well as removing turn signals so noone else knows your turning.................I'm ruining the car by upgrading the headlights ? seems like everything you are doing is "making it work with what you have" and doing it all incorrectly. One day you will grow up and think back to how badly you destroyed that once beautiful car. Sorry, I just don't understand what your trying to do with that poor car.
and BTW, none of my cars are "factory standards"Comment

OP why do you clearly ask for opinions and then get's pissed when people give you feedback?I got some used E34 ellipsoids for my E12! Finally got around to retrofitting them. Not sure if anyone's done this but I figured I'd give it a shot. I also fitted my intake in to the passenger side highbeam location. Just wanna see what everone thinks! bodywork is soon to come!
Sure it's not to everyone's taste, and on r3v everyone will tell you that. Please report back to Stancenation, Hipsterstance.com or baggedandsagged.com for 100% love from your brosComment

For the love of...
NO CLASSIC BMW HAS LINES TO PULL OFF THE MODERN "FATTY-FIVE SPOKE" BMW WHEELS :hitler:
I've been saying this over and over and over again and you bastards don't listen
Coilovered on Style 5s with some correct euro goodies. Done. Boom. Bang.
I've never been a proponent of "cold" (:giggle:) air intakes jumping out of the grille. Its stupid, and rice, and hideous. However, I will offer you a congratulatory Bro-pound if you like to think you're getting.. leik... +10 moar horzpowar sucking up all that "cold" air bdro
I would have listenned to Creep instead of bashing him on the other thread; He was even nice enough to give you some advice with links. $45 bucks SHIPPED for COILOVERS. If e30s had $45 shipped coilovers, I would have dropped my oilpan to the ground by now. If you would take some time, stop being a defensive prick. grow some balls, and quit whining like a little girl, you'd find that most people on the forum actually want to help you. Its prideful attitudes like yours that quickly get your butthole stretched around these parts with a nice ticket to Ban-ville.
As far as the headlights, its a neat idea. I love taking newer BMW goodies and retrofitting them to older cars for a nice factory refresh. Had they been executed with a little more... attention to detail, I would've thought they were fantastic, but sadly; I can't imagine the beams sitting horizontal being slanted as they are.
EDIT: Just got back from the other thread. The car looks way better even with just stock bottlecaps
If you wanna be "F***ing Classy", do something along the lines of this guy:

That way you can still rock the ratrod look and stay with the "classy" theme you're going for (two completely opposite looks that are extremely hard to blend, but we as the members are trying to give you tips for). As for the car at the moment, its confused and doesnt know what it is. "Am I a racecar?" "No, I have four doors and I'm a tank" "Am I a classy car?" "No, I have this friggen air intake sticking out my nose!"Last edited by JinormusJ; 02-02-2013, 02:34 PM.Comment
