    1984 BMW E28 528e
Very good overall condition, used daily, many new parts, extensive service history, original, solid car.
Our family has owned this BMW since 1989. It is a US spec car that my brother used in the States for a few years. He then shipped it to France where it was used there.
I have had the car since 1999 when I received it from my brother and I imported it to Canada. At that time I refurbished the entire car. I replaced all steering linkages, guibo, full exhaust (including cat), brakes and discs, wheel bearings, full clutch assy., slave cylinder, shocks, head bolts, and performed an overall general service. The car went into storage in 2002 when I moved the UK. I used it only in the summers since then when I would come back to Canada to visit. Since all the above mentioned work, the car has covered less than 6000 miles.
Mechanically overall the 528e is in very good condition considering its age. It has been oil sprayed throughout the years and as a result the body is very solid. The engine runs smooth, the electrics are in good order and generally the car operates well. I currently commute about 45 miles each day with it.
As it is a 528e it has the 2.7 litre high efficiency M20 straight 6 engine. This engine is quite easy to work on compared to BMW’s larger sixes of the era, and delivers decent fuel economy.
As mentioned above this is a US spec car but is licenced in Ontario with a clear ownership. As a 1984 model it is exempt from Drive Clean. It was last safetied in July 2012. The car has appx. 160 k miles on it but has been very well maintained throughout its life. I have a folder full of receipts to support this. The oil is changed every 3000 miles. As you would expect from a 28 year old car, it is not perfect. The dashboard has a number of cracks, the silver paintwork is faded and there are a couple dings to the bodywork. Saying this, the car is still very presentable and would take a very light restoration to make it an excellent example.
I am selling the BMW as I brought back two cars with me from the UK (including another BMW), and now have more cars than space. This E28 would best suit a BMW enthusiast who wants a unique daily driver or a solid base for a light restoration. I also have a few spare parts available, including a pair of 15” alloys for winter tires (alloys at additional cost).
Additional photos are available and viewings are welcome on evenings or weekends. The car is in Windsor. Please contact me via the email link and I will be happy to provide more details.
I am open to sensible offers.
    Thank you.
Also, since it has a 2.7 m20 is it possible for me to take the head off my '90 ix with a blown tcase and bolt it on with out a ton of modifications?

    Thanks

Although the car seems well maintained with good service history, price seems high for a 528 IMO. I bought my 535is for 2800 with same mileage and slightly less service history but the car was well cared for. For a 528e I would not pay that much unless closer to 100k and even then I would hold out for a 535.

Everything he had replaced back in 1999 is going to start wearing.

        $1200 tops.

I think rust free cars go for more in canada then in the US. I don't think you can get very much for a grand in canada.

Replacement parts, like suspension bushings will all need a refresh if not replaced since 99. When I bought my IS it had its whole front end done in 04-05 and I have replaced almost all of it after being worn out in the last year or so.

If they are harder to find, it MIGHT be worth a little more than 1k but still... You might be better off finding a four door e30.

My 85 e28 with 145k miles was all original as far as the suspension was concerned. No clunks or shaking when i drive, just surface cracks in the rubber. I can't imagine that a 13 year old refresh would be shot with only 6k miles on it. Its not like the car has been parked in death valley all this time.

                    That's my man!

Unless you are an ETA junkie, get an M30 car.

Thanks for the info. Really looking for a cheap pre 90s bimmer($1000-$2000) for dding(winter too) till I get my own house with a garage. Then its awesome rust free e30 or e34 time. So I am ok with an eta.

if you get the eta, ditch the electric seats for manual E30 ones, you will prob save like 65400 lbs.

True dat! Eta is a gas saver. Still not worth that much. I'd say 1400 max, no higher
