    New to me 83 528e

I havent been on much since I wrecked my 325 but I just bought a 528e for $600 today and had a few questions.

I was wondering what will swap over from an 87 325is to an 83 528e?
I still have my 325 with all of its goodies but I'd like to strip off the usable stuff and get rid of the shell.
Also is there anything specific I should watch out for with the 528?

The items I am most interested in swapping out are the 325's manual trans, lsd, m20b25, and any "upgrade" suspension and brake components.

I think you can swap the steering wheel over. It's probably smaller in diameter.

Thanks guys. I will definitely be keeping my Mtech I wheel! I wish I could keep my BBS wheels but oh well.

I thought about a 2.7i but my 2.5 is already ported and cammed and setup on my war chip so I will probably keep that.

Swap the 2.5 into the eta then.

Seats too. Being you have an IS you just need adapters.

won't be able to, early model e28's have a coarse spline wheel... later model e28's can accept e30 steering wheels.

Damn I like my Mtech wheel! Oh well. I like the seats in my IS but they are a bit worn and the ones in the 528 are comfy and in great shape so I will probably sell them off. Definitely gonna swap in the 2.5 after driving the 528 around some today!

Thanks Squid! I'm into the car for 650 with the ecu I had to replace to get it running. It runs like a top and aside from a slight shimmy under hard acceleration feels completely solid. Still cant believe I got it that cheap!

Hey Squid you wouldnt happen to have a baseline tune for the eta would you? I would like to get the chipped ECU in ASAP and see what I can do with the eta engine while I refresh the 2.5.

Thats the only reason i went to look at it honestly. I just couldnt pass on something that clean for that price. Especially when i have a mildly built b25 sitting here going to waste!!

Changing the auto to a manual will wake it up considerably. I have 2 83 E's one 5 speed one auto big difference in them. Nice find.
