Just finished swapping my 540 from auto to 6spd (did timing guides at the same time). Big job, but not that difficult once I taught myself how to code! Just need to bleed the clutch (PITA) and I should be good to roll!

I am also looking into getting either a 525 or 530 manual, kind of hard to find a 540(manual and~$5K )here in FL that are taken care of. ;D

Here's a quick shot of mine from last summer when I was trying to sell it...



Luckily I guess, that is when I found out how little value these babies really have, so I decided to keep it and just play around with it. Did a bunch of things to it over the winter and I am enjoying it immensely now! :) Coilovers, LSD, redid the rear suspension and rear bushings, Mpars, redid the exhaust to get rid of the gaudy tips, bumped up the rev limiter and the idle speed minimum, etc... Gotta get some new pics!

So R3Vlimited isn't just focused on e30s? The V8 swap forum on here is a gold mine for M62/M60 information, LOVE IT!!!

Here is my 1997 540i/6 aubergine on aubergine. H&R suspension, Dinan muffler. When I got it 5 years ago on M5 replicas and stock lamps with 115k miles:









And as it sits today with genuine style 65s, an M5 front bumper and some updated lamps with 184k miles:















You can really see how different the Aubergine paint looks in the different light. It is not for everyone but I sure enjoy it and these cars really are fantastic daily drivers. Powerful, comfortable and good looking.
