E30 Koni Yellows on an e28

I've heard that e30 shocks work on e28s which would allow me to run adjustable Koni's (which they don't carry for e28s). Has anyone verified this? I wonder of the weight difference in the cars would impact the shocks performance. It would be great to have adjustable shocks.

E30 strut inserts are shorter than E28's, I have heard of people using them in shortened e28 housings before. Not sure what you'd use in the rear though.
