1991 M5 part out due to side crash from other driver who ran a red light Hello Everyone,
This is very sad for me to due this, as I finally had a decent M car after 3 failed 1988 M5, a 1995 M3, disaster and a 1988 M6, which I just not truly say what I though due to me being professional.
About a month ago I was involved in a wreck due to a women not paying attention and driving to fast for weather conditions and running a red light and T-bonen me on the right side of my 1991 white M5. The car was totalled since it tweaked the roof and when I was able to open the door at the repair shop that I used to have it worked on, I saw the frame was bent as well, I had a battle with insurance company on valve, lucky with my years of exsperiance with bmw parts and projects and dealing with them as a whole in general I came out o.k in lost value. So I sadly have to part it out, it will either have a salvage or COD title, needless to say I am parting it since it is worth more in parts then as a whole. Currently, I have the transmission pre-sold, The rims I am putting on my RHD BMW 730i I just got last week, to somewhat replace my M5, The front and rear suspension, is also sold, since the person who is getting the items is helping me part it out and help fixing my RHD nicer then it is currently, The motor has about 110k on a complete rebuilt,documentation is avaliable to show over the years with the previous owners they have spent about $50k in service repairs and what have you. The car body without checking all the items replace has 233k highway miles as it was loving driven, the interior is in very good shape, black leather, with grey headliner, the passenger side door, glass, door cards, are destroyed front right fender bent and not worth fixing, Airbag is still good didnt deployed, all the lights work and electronics worked as well at the time, I also just bought a brand new lighted gearshift know that I will sell as well or may keep till I get another M5 in the future, With the motor, I will sell it as a whole motor,wiringharness and DME, I am asking $4k for the set up. I may consider cash and a part bmw trade? For trades I am intrested in running little to NO rust 2002's E30, euro bmw's, 524td's, M3, M5, 745i turbos motornic series ideally, or anything unique? I realize the M3, and M5 would be rare offers if they are in not rough condition! I have owned and driven about every bmw you can think of within reason from 1966-2000 model year, So I know values of these cars, so please be honest and sincere in offers. I also have a very rare 1990 735i shadowline factory 5 speed for sale as well I would also consider doing a possible package deal as well. bmwextremeguy shawnDrivetrain and other parts related have pending sale today10/25/12. I will part out whatever my friend doesnt need for his wagon project. He has the area and resources to do it as I dont.
My wife has been ill for 3 weeks so I havent been able to do much of anything Her health comes first,. I thought I would be able to part the car out like I did my 2002 on faq2002 site. So my friend will get all the large items that he needs and I will get the chassis back with whatever he doesnt need, for sure he is getting front and rear suspension, the motor wiring harness DME, possibley the bumpers seats front only and that is what I think it will be all other items should be avalible, that way it be easier for me to put it in storage and part out myself. I thought it be a complete part out on the forum, but the offers for drivetrain are not there and I have to do what is best for my family. I appologize for mishappens beyond my control when I get the rolling chassis I will start to parting it out and pricing everything accordenly.
