Luke previously made me a box for e30 10w6 and im so in love with that setup. Still have another 10w6 left over andwould like to reuse that or find max depth before picking up another sub to my taste.

Did you have dsp ? Did you remove the dsp "nokia subs". Have you redone the front setup ?

There's no way the W6 will fit. The basket stays too large around and too far away from the mounting surface plane. It's because of the angle of the face, and the location that the woofer had to be to fit the port tubes in the ski-pass. It was a juggling act.

I do not have an -exact- max depth attainable at the center of the cutout (once again due to the angle), because that number will change with different magnet diameters. I'll be safe and say 6", maybe a little more depending on how big around the woofer is at it's max depth. As Keith mentioned above, it is known that his W3, and an Infinity 1062 do fit, and they're both just barely under 6" mounting depth.

Just an idea for cutting the hole out of the seat back. Rather then use tin snips all the way around, you could use a hole saw (say, 1" diameter) and drill each corner with that first, then connect the holes with straight lines using tin snips. Probably be easier then trying to cut curves with tin snips, and it would give nice smooth corners.

What exactly do you mean? Because you see no amplifier? Keith is running deck power to his speakers, then with an amplifier hidden in his spare tire well for the sub. That's why there's just a wire trailing down the box to under the trunk carpet.

I mean how does the sub gets its signal? Is it tapped into the existing factory audio the same way as (or similar to) the BSW box?

I do not have DSP so no factory subs. Only mods are Hertz 5 1/4" woofers up front ran off the factory amp/crossover, a kenwood KVT 696 deck, and the sub and mono-block amp. The rest is stock. Even the mids and tweets in the front doors, I just havent hooked up the hertz tweeters because the factory ones are just fine until I get a proper 4 channel and my Focal 6.5's in there.

For the guy asking how I wired it, like I said above, I have an aftermarket deck so I ran an RCA and signal wire to the trunk. But you can run a line out converter from the factory amp and also grab the signal wire for amp turn on right in the trunk. Its really simple. In that case, Id recommend a bass level control knob so you have better sub volume control rather then just the bass adjustment on the MID.

I believe the hole in the pictures above in Keiths car is the stock skipass hole in the metal, but cut out not punched out. If you don't want to see the metal there, it could be just trimmed back a little bit.

When you remove the rear seat you will see the intended area to be cut out had the factory cut it out for a ski pass to be there. We followed that line and above is how it came out. I plan on trimming it around the entire arm rest so you dont see the metal at all. But only if there is enough foam around the baffle to keep a good seal.

Something you might want to keep in mind Justin.
