1995 BMW E34 525iT Touring Wagon. Alpine White III w/Parchment leather interior. 196K miles, Steptronic automatic transmission, with no shifting issues. Fully functioning dual panel panoramic sunroof, euro rear seat headrests, cargo nets, cargo cover. A/C blows cold. Non-SLS rear suspension.
This was a Kentucky car for most of its life, as evidenced by the lack of the typical rust on these cars. It was purchased new by a BMW dealer in Paducah for his wife. Original sticker price was $42,585. He followed the “old school” maintenance schedule on the car, over and above the BMW required service intervals. I’m selling the car because my wife desires a smaller 3 series wagon. I had intended to do a 5-speed and S52 or M54b30 swap before the wife decided to change her mind and also have a running, driving, 1991 525i donor car w/ZF 5-speed that will be available as soon as a replacement wagon is found, in case anyone is interested.
I have a folder full of receipts for the following parts/labor performed in the last 12 months:
-new Lemforder upper control arms w/750i bushings
-new Lemforder lower control arms
-new Sachs Advantage front struts
-new sway bar links
-front end alignment
-16” Racing Dynamics RGR wheels w/225/50 BFGoodrich G-Force Sport tires
-new A/C tensioner pulley
-new Bosch oxygen sensor
-new fuel pump and relay
-new driveshaft guibo & center support bearing
-new transmission mounts
-new air filter
-new spark plugs
-new exhaust hangers
-new interior microfilter
-new intake boot
-new euro clear turn signals and side indicators
-new Alpine CD player w/Bluetooth capability
-auto-dimming rear view mirror upgrade
-new lighted ignition key
-new OEM BMW floor mats
-9005 headlight modification w/Silverstar bulbs
-new hood shocks
-worn rear tailgate wiring repaired
-new RF bumper trim
-new front & rear roundels
Issues:
The driver’s seat bottom front up/down adjustment is not functioning, but the seat moves back and forth, rear tilts, etc. Could be the switch or motor, not sure which. Also, both front seat headrests need the cables repaired, as they do not move up/down.
The shift selector indicator does not illuminate.
Headliner drooping around rear speakers.
Everything else on the car functions well and this is a reliable, good running car with all the usual suspension, tailgate wiring, etc., already taken care of. As mentioned earlier I have a folder full of receipts that go with the car. There are some small dings on the exterior and some worn clearcoat on the left corner of the rear bumper, but overall condition is very good. The underside is also very fresh, as it hasn’t been exposed to salt like the majority of the E34’s found here in the Midwest.
