are you looking for lower compression from the m30b34 head instead of getting the m30b35 head?

nop im not, head has a b35 stamped somewhere, but for some reason i called 2 places today looking for a whole engine and day say that in their records it showed that 89 535's came with m30b34's, NO m30b35s

They would be wrong. All E34 chassis with M30 had B35s.

Ya all 535i e28 had the m30b34. ALL e34 535i had the m30b35. Now who ever told you that the e34 535i had a m30b34 did not know to much about the e34. The last year of the e24 also had the m30b35 and the e32 735i had the m30b35.

^^^ Thanks for the tips guys, i figured it out today after removing the head and doing some quick research, i had fun tho, i think it took me longer to do the timing belt on the m20 than removing the head from the e34 lol

ya, the worst part at removing the m30b34 is taking off the exhaust manifolds. The rest is pretty easy. The M50 is a much bigger pain.
