Ok with the m30 trannies yes they will bolt up to any m30 engine but the e28 260 getrag had bell housing sensors do the e34 trannies will not work for the e28. Also the shifters and the out put shafts are different, do you should spectate the 2. There is also a 265 getrag used in the e28 but never used in the e34. Then there is a difference in the depth if the early 260/5 getrage used in the 533i, which means not all clutches will work and the drive shafts are different.
