Hello, I have a 1987 BMW 528e for sale.
Pros:
Carefully maintained with oil changes done every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 oil.
Only used Chevron gasoline.
Only 135,XXX total miles on the vehicle.
Paint is a 9/10 condition, no peeling or fading.
Interior is in immaculate condition. No rips or tears.
Dash has a custom cover and has only one small noticeable crack.
Extremely reliable motor and automatic transmission. Has never left me stranded.
Great MPG for its year. 29 Highway and 23 city depending how you drive.
All electronics works.
Great cruiser at all speeds.
I have kept every record of the vehicle from previous owner and myself, which I will include.
Never beaten or abused in anyway.
Original owner did the timing belt at 36,364 and 96,367.
Low miles.
OBC is fully working but light is a little dim.
Passes smog.
No leaks in trunk or sunroof.
No oil, power steering, coolant, or transmission fluid leaks.
No rust.
Electric seats work.
Tags up to date.
Nothing mechanically is wrong.
Cons:
Salvage Title.
Radio has small static noise that goes on and off despite new speakers and aftermarket radio.
Fuel gauge works but only goes to halfway when its full, but is accurate.
Air conditioner is not working but all the vents and fans do.
A couple of small rock chips on the hood.
Cracked passenger headlight, but still works fine.
Some dry rubber trim.
A little uneven tire wear in the rear.
Electric antenna is stuck in up position.
Vehicle’s History:
I am the third owner of the vehicle and purchased it from a family member over 2 years ago. I have put just more than 21,000 miles on the car. Mostly all highway miles because I used it to commute to work and school. I would say 85% highway and 15% city while in my possession. When I first purchased the vehicle, I went through the vehicle with a certified BMW mechanic and replaced any item that looked old or worn out. The only reason I am the selling the car is because I do not have enough space at my house for it. I am still driving it here and there so the mileage will go up a little bit.
So far I have replaced:
All three drive belts
Power steering pump
Power steering hoses
Valve cover gasket
Front rotors
Brake pads
Thrust rod arms + bushings
Tie rods
Timing belt and water pump
Left diff seal
Reservoir to power steering box
Odometer gear
Front struts
Drive shaft bushing mount
A/C belt and power steering belt
Spark plugs
Tire Rotations
Oil and oil filter changes every 3,000 miles
New stock muffler
Front speakers tweeters professionally installed with warranty
Newer front tires
The previous owner fixed the driver front fender in his body shop and replaced some miscellaneous suspension parts. He also put the very nice black pinstripe on the side of the vehicle as well. He did not drive it, but just had it stored.
The car is originally from Montana I believe who put the first 114,000 miles on the vehicle. It was always garaged and has zero rust on any part of the car. I was also told the original owners were an older couple who drove it sparingly, but decided to get let it go once it got hit and was given the salvaged title even though the damage was not major.
The odometer reads 128,XXX but the car actually has around 135,XXX. These cars can easily go up to 350,000 if basic maintenance is done. This car needs nothing, it is a nice turn-key, completely stock vehicle that will take you anywhere without any worries.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or want a specific picture of the vehicle. No test-drives without cash in hand. I will not ship the vehcile, must be picked up. Cash only. I am located in the Bay Area California.
Thank you.
-Austin
