92 e34 stock radio problems

So my problem is the infamous bmw anti-theft. I have the Identification cards provided by BMW with both my six digit code and serial number. I checked to make sure my serial number matched up and it does. I have tried unplugging the battery and also unplugging the stereo. No luck so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have no help for that problem except to ask why not just get an aftermarket HU that is much better than the stocker? It doesn't take much.
