    e34 coolant smell in cabin

I have a 'new to me' 1992 touring with the dreaded coolant smell in the cabin. There are no apparent leaks on the passenger side floor and no drips under the car. Passenger carpet is dry.

If I have the heat on with the two top vent slider controls closed it is only a slight smell. With the top two open its much more prevalent.
Other than a heater core, do I have another option?

That HVAC system is a bitch, thats for sure. I swapped heater cores, AUX pump, valves, all that shit, all fresh o-rings, everything....STILL smelled sweet. Passed a pressure test, even a half-hour one at 18PSI with no issues...lets both hope r3V has some better answers, I have 2 E34s now and the second one is gonna be a fairly serious car, M54 and all.

    I hate that damn smell!

Oh: did you change the cabin air filter?

    Closing SOON!

I've not done the filter yet, but I don't think that will be the fix, especially after all the work you did to still have the smell. But I will go ahead and change it....
