E34: Old vs. new style front strut mount question

I need to replace my strut mounts in the front of my car, they use the older style mounts and what I ordered were the newer style mounts. Although I forgot to order the spring hats so I need to place another order but my question is, comparing the two, it looks like the newer style will actually raise the suspension a bit. I'm quite happy with the ride height of the car now and don't want to have it raised any.

Car is a 93 525iT btw.

Curious too. I have been wanting to do e90 drophats to my 5. e34 and e30 springs are same diameter so they will fit

same height.
there a 3 upper mounts used on e34s. not just 2.
uppers must match your strut shafts.

btw m5s and tourings all use the 2nd style mounts, iirc. aka the expensive dealer only ones.
