              That is a good thread!
I'm wondering, I have a us 92 525it with basic 1st gen usa 4 spoke airbag, anyone know if a mid 80's sports non-airbag wheel could work? ...I just don't trust 1st gen airbags. Damn legislators regulating everything. Bring back natural selection. The airbag wheel is ugly and uncomfortable
...what hasn’t been done to an m20 yet?

Not definitive at all. There are different spline patterns/slip rings for fixed steering columns, power adjust columns and manual adjust columns. These DO NOT follow any particular years or hierarchy. (especially the early years.) It's also very different from the euro cars. It's a crap shoot what wheel will fit a certain US E34 unless you remove your wheel and verify which slip ring and which splines are on YOUR car. I only say this to help people before they spend money on a wheel that won't work.

The list of steering wheels is nice though!
