The 83, has the same head as the m30b34. I would just put another head on it. If you want to get excited you can go with dropping in the m30b35, but then I would switch to later motronic.

I like the b32. Still is a hot engine with a better cam then the b34. The b35 has more cooling issues the. The b32 and b34. It's the water jackets on the b35 block. B32 is good for turbo. Plus, any m30 is cheap to rebuild and find. Probably 150-200 for complete engine. Do what you like, cause after all this "I think this is best, and this is not" talking. You are gonna do what you think is best for your situation.
