anyone fit e30 ellipsoids in their e28?

Low beam ellipsoids throw a poor beam - not worth the $$ or time. We prefer H1/H4 upgrades or Euro lamps and buckets with brighter bulbs.

Yeah thats what I read a lot of guys like the plug and play head lamps you buy. But I like running hid's on the ellipsoids thats why I was wondering. Do you guys run hid's on those h4 upgrades

The hella and cebie upgrades for the sealed beam folks are amazing. Better by far then the ellips with halogens. The ellipsoids were not designed to run hid's, so the beam pattern for them is not as good as a well sorted hella H1/H4 upgrade. Cost about the same, but hella has it down.

NOTE, these are not DOT approved, so you'll have to keep the shitty seal beams to swap in to pass inspection in some areas (yeah, pretty dumb if you ask me).
