    Cat 293/293 camshaft?

Well, since I'm getting my e34 back I want to have a little fun with it.

I am in no position to turbocharge my car at this point in my life. I just don't have the time, or funds for that matter.

That said, I still want to have a little fun with this car, keep it tame but give it my own personal touch.

I CAN install a cam in a day, and I have my eyes set on the CAT 293/293. Looking for advice on this cam. I would most likely throw in a set of Shrick springs at the same time. Does the m30b35 suffer from rocker arms breaking like the m20?

I could tame it down with the Shrick camshaft, but it's over $100 more.

    Teach me something!

293 cam is a little much for the street, you may lose too much low end torque for your liking. Try something smaller like in the 276 range. I believe stock e34 cam is around 260 duration. With the 293 cam your motor will have to stay in the 4500 rpm plus range to make the power you desire.

This. Even the Alpina B10 3.5 used a 272 cam. I know someone with a B35 swapped e34 touring w/B10 cam and he said it's a hoot to drive.

Albeit the B10 turbo cam is stock BMW, IIRC.

The stock B35 Cam is 262. I have a Reground 282 from Ireland engineering.
I have yet to installed,i wanted the 293 they offer, but that would be WAY TO rough for a street car,
