I have been trying to find what the 5 speed number is for the v8. Is it a getrag or zf or what? I've searched non stop for an hour and can't find it. I want to use the 5 speed in my m60 e30

Correct. The zf310box is a 1.00 5th gear ratio. In the 525s it came with a 3.23 ratio differential, not sure what your car has though, likely the same though.Comment

The E34 530i's which originally had the transmission had 2.93 gears.
The E30 325es had (I think) either 2.79 or 2.93 gears.
The V8 310Z trans does NOT have the mount for the OBDII crank sensor... which may or may not be relevant depending on which engine you're swapping.Comment
