Need Advise for Mystery E28 Getrag

Hey R3V, I need some clarification on this E28 Getrag 5 speed transmission I have. When I ran the housing number, it comes back as either E28 535i or M5 transmission.

Does anyone have this trans or know what car it came out of?

Side casing # 260.0.1302.92

Rear case # 260.0.1060.92

I believe its either a g260/5 or a g260/6 both came in those cars, the 260/6 is just the later edition with some upgrades for torque increases in the engine. Not sure how to tell the difference between the two

Thanks man, I ended up selling it to an E28 owner who said it will work with his 535i.

Looks like a G260/6, which is from a late-model 535i. The 260/6 can be identified by the cooling fins on the bottom of the transmission casing.
