    Replacing gauges

    Hey all,
I have a 1985 318i, it came from the factory with a clock instead of a tachometer. I bought a replacement tachometer but I'm not sure if it will work. Can you all take a look? It is listed for an m10 which I have but I'm not sure if it will just plugin or what it will have to do to make it work.

You should confirm that there's a connection from the dash to the coil/ignition module.

www.wedophones.com and then look under manuals to find your wiring diagram.

You may have a harness that doesn't have that wire,
but it's easy to confirm with a meter, and easy to
    add if it's not there.
