Saving E30 info with the WaybackMachine Archive.org

I don't know if this feature was always available, but you can manually save pages with the wayback machine at Archive.org.

I've started doing this whenever I link to an external site or DIY in a thread. I include the original link and a link to the freshly archived page.

One step towards keeping the vast amount of E30 info online.

I've done stuff like this in the past too, excellent idea in regards to DIY threads or sites.

Do you have a running list you want to share? We could even archive a flat page that links to them all. Archive the archive so to speak.

      EDIT:
Whole E30tech forum appears to now be archived at
e30tech.com Forums - BMW E30 3 Series Online Technical Community

Just found out that you can manually submit pages today.

Just one link so far, but I do have a google drive with some e30tech pages.

E30Tech info on Google Drive I pulled down in 2017:

There are a couple photobucket browser extensions which restore the photos (for the most part)

I know the pain though, I spent MONTHS going back through my build thread and rehosting all the pictures. Thankfully I had saved the originals.

I've been taking screen shots or "print to PDF" and saving to google drive, so the pics are always there, even if the host stops hosting.

This is great too, never knew something like this was out there.
