"89 is with 2.7 short block

Am I the only guy who put a 2.7 into all "i" running gear, When I bought my e30 at auction it needed a motor and this 2,7 was priced to sell so that's my story. I think my car is fast, but they are all fast,
Any how its a pleasure to be in such a group as this. I have lots of parts and other BMW stuff (e10. e21 e30) if someone local wants it.

Not at all. It was done as far back as the late 80's/early 90's by BMW guru's at the time. I built my first in 96 based on the 88 Super ETA engine. Just recently built the same engine + turbo for my convertible. I always questioned why BMW didn't stick with the longer crank for the 325i. It's not like the 325i engine was so rev happy, it couldn't handle the rod angles but for some reason they saw fit to shorten the stroke. Perhaps it gave them a larger margin of safety.
