The NEW Playstation: PSTwo (Not PS2)

So Sony goes ahead and remakes the PS2 into the PSTwo for some reason. It's the same price as the PS2 at $150. Here's a little clip I took off a game site...

"The Internal volume of the system has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved, and thickness trimmed down to 2.8 cm (thickness of current model is 7.8 cm). The unit also has modem and Ethernet ports integrated into the system this time around, making it so consumers do not have to purchase a second peripheral to add on. The only colors that have been announced are black."

Not really amazing, just an interesting new design. Pretty sweet if you ask me. Should be out November 1st.

Yea, my ps2 broke a few months ago. I think I'll wait for GT 4 to come out and I'll buy the PSTwo then.

Damn, I guess people just don't take care of their PS2s. I've had mine for well over a year now and it still works/looks like new.

I take exquisite care of my PS2, and I've had it for 2 years. I've never watched a DVD in it once, and I run a DVD lens cleaner through it once a month. Lately it has just been taking a really long time to read discs.

I took excellent care of my ps2 and all of the discs. I've never had a problem with any other system or dvd player or anything like that. However my ps2 and most of my friends ps2's broke.

The reason is because the PS2 was not fully ready for launch when the deadline was nearing, and they rushed it. The Dreamcast was already out, and they knew that Microsoft was looming on the horizon with the XBOX. They used a lot of shortcuts, and didn't take the time to engineer lots of parts properly, that's why PS2's are always crapping out. This new PS2 is a redesign of the first, meant to be what the original one was supposed to be when it was first released.

If they ever do release GT4 I might have to finally buy my first game machine since Super Nintendo. It being small is a plus too.
                      Im now E30less.

Yes. All PS2 software is in DVD format, and it'll play all regions of DVD.

All the people who midified glove boxes etc to fit in a bulky PS2 will be pissed they didnt wait for the smaller version.

Then again, who the hell needs a PS2 or any gaming device in their car anway?
