    Fuel Pump problem

    Hello guys

    Can anyone recommend a good fuel pump for my 1991 bmw 318is?
    The car has had a poor idle, extended cranking issues, and poor acceleration since I got it 1 months ago. Finally checked the fuel pressure and it was only 22psi ! I took the pump out and found the plastic connection kept get pushed out, I fixed it and the car ran like a million bucks (all issues fixed) but I noticed the problems were coming back slowly. Took the pump out today and it is cocked off to the side again. Don’t want to pay for the 700$ OEM pump but all the aftermarket’s pumps to my research look identical to this and I don’t want to run into the same issue.

    Just retrofit an aftermarket Walbro or TRE pump 190lph will do. Get a kit that includes submersible hose to make it easier for you.

      Uro does make a replacement pump assembly for the 318is if you wanted something affordable that is plug and play. Otherwise, I recommend retrofitting this DW pump into the stock carrier. https://deatschwerks.com/collections...cts/9-651-1030

        FOR YOUR 1991 BMW 318IS, I WOULD RECOMMEND LOOKING INTO A QUALITY AFTERMARKET FUEL PUMP FROM A REPUTABLE BRAND SUCH AS:
        BOSCH, DELPHI, AIRTEX,CARTER or DENSO

          @happy wheels,

          I thought so too. Adding or re-mounting a Walbro replacement pump to the 318is to the stock mount.
