For those that have removed your front subframe????

I ordered some new mounting bolts (I order new bolts for everything when it comes off since this was a FL car and they are always nasty), however, the 4 bolts they sent me are all the same length.

The bolts that were in the car were different with the 2 bolts closer to the firewall being longer.

RealOEM shows the bolts being the same length, what say you?

I may take the originals to Fastenal to see if they can find some matching replacements.

I think mine were the same length when I removed my subframe. They could have been replaced earlier though. They went in without a problem

I don't remember how mine looked to be honest. How different in length are they? How many turns do you get with the shorter ones before they bottom out? Are the head markings on your old bolts different between the short and long ones? i.e. did someone go to Ace and just grab two bolts that were close and throw them in.

FL cars are rusty? Compared to what? Cars in a showroom? :p

The bolts are definately different lengths. With the front ones being longer IIRC. I remember because I had a serious issue not having enough thread to bolt my sway bar + reinforcement brackets with the OEM subframe rear bolt.

I just dropped the subframe on my eta last weekend to get the control arms off. The rear bolts are definitely longer by at least a half inch I'd say

Maybe I mixed up my bolts then? I was about 30 hours without sleep at that point in time :p

Well, I had a car from Maine, and the front subframe bolts weren't really rusty. The heads were coated with cosmoline, which spared them from getting really nasty looking. The sheetmetal was a different story. :(

I know because BMA apparently has the same info that they are the same length. Guess I"ll just go ahead and go by Fastenal after work today and tell them to find me some matching bolts.

well yeah because BMA probably uses the same database that realoem is based off of.
