door gasket install question

Does anyone know what glue (if any) needs to be used on #8 door gasket ? The old seemed to be stuck to the door and had some minimal glue residue on the the bottom of the seal (what it seems like anyway)

Secured with a push pin rivet at either end, and presses into a groove. No adhesive.
