E30 = Stress cope for me but stressfull for the others...

I was just wondering here how many of you work on your E30's as a stress relief? I always work on my cars an find stuff to do when ever I get stressed. It is literally habitual... The problem is the others in the house seem to get annoyed. Noises, smells, etc... I fear that I'm this is putting to much on them.

I own 4 vehicles so that by the law of averages, at least one will be running at any given time. This allows me to enjoy working on cars rather than having a deadline.

My stress relief is either working on the car (which has been the majoirty lately) or I take it out for a highway cruise. Even though it's my DD when I really need to de-stress hitting the highway on a clear day is the best thing in the world.

Same situation here. It allows me to enjoy the work instead of rushing through it. It's much more relaxing that way and I get a genuine sense of joy from it!

Except that I own like 6.5 cars right now and I have a few I don't like working on... ever...

I only own two cars right now, but i really enjoy going out in the garage when i'm stressed out and to work on the e30. I may not have even driven the damn thing a mile since i bought it last year, but i sure do love it

By "others" in the house, do you mean your wife? If so, does she know how you feel about it?

If "other" are roommates, well, that's their problem. It really can't be that bad, right? Just keep everything as clean as possible and avoid making noise when it is sure to bother others.

Yeah, it can be a stress relief for me too... but it also a source of stress. :(

I get a sense of accomplishment afterward, but while doing the job it's usually stressful, because it's my only car, and I can't afford to have too much downtime.

I'm kinda grateful my 87is was such a pos, because I gained a lot of experience by working it, and now the normal jobs are a pretty straightforward.

I'm gathering parts for a non vanos m50 turbo swap :) otherwise, i've been doing all the body work on it and restoring it to drivable condition (bought/found the car in a gravel pit), but time has been an issue and i haven't been able to work on it too much.

It's been stressful doing work on mine because my truck has been down, but now that the truck is back again I can take my E30 off the line for some serious downtime if I need to.
