Control arms don't just break in half all on their own! I have seen them severely bent and still not broken!Leave a comment:

just as a precaution i'd prolly replace the other control arm tooLeave a comment:

I'm curious as well, particularly if there's something I could look for to avoid this situation.
This def could have been a lot worse than just an oilpan.Leave a comment:

wow thats a pretty nasty catastrophic failure!
can you post a picture of the broken control arm? a zoom up of the fracture surface would really be nice. metal failure is my job, i can give some insight on the cause.Leave a comment:

As per the bentley, you can turn the oil pump sprocket by hand with the pickup submerged to test it. I would replace it regardless, the guy above me is giving you a very good deal.Leave a comment:

I recommend replacing the pump as well, as long as you didn't leave the engine running after the oil all leaked out it'll be fine.
On another note i have an oil pan i'm trying to sell for $125 and if you're interested i'll throw in an oil pump for free because of your shitty situation.Leave a comment:

when you get the old pan off, the oil pump is easy to pop out to inspect.Leave a comment:
