    Maybe sell car? E36 Ti?

With the recent head rebuild on the car, ive been thinking about selling it..for something newer and a bit more reliable. What do you guys think?

1990 325i Turbo with a new top end and a new 6 puck clutch?

My ideal car would be a 95 Ti and drop an M50 in, I'd probably keep it NA and drop in M3 cams at some point blah blah blah. This is just an idea ive been entertaining.

    Some info:
    1990 325i Turbo
    130k miles
    5 speed
    Year old paint
    Flawless black lethearette interior
    3.73 LSD
    H&R springs, Bilstein shocks
    New rebuilt head
timing belt/water pump/distrib/rotor/ radiator replaced about a year ago
    16X7 M11-2 Mille Migla sports
SMT-6, T3 60 trim turbo, ProTurbo manifold adapter, Starion Intercooler

Again, this is just an idea ive been entertaining. So it's not going in the FS/WTB just yet.

    What do you guys think?

if you want, I personally think the fun of e30's is partly because they ARE older cars, and less complicated then those new things.

I just don't want airbags, traction control, etc

I understand that financially, this suggestion could be bad, as you are a college student.

        however

daily driver, seriously, I think you need one.

I am shopping for late 80's toyoto 4x4 trucks, just to use as as a daily.

its worth if to have a 2nd car

how will the E36 be more reliable? it's still a 10 year old car.

if you want something reliable, get an old beater honda or toyota, they never die and you'll save money on gas.

TIs are probably the most reliable of all of the E36 family. There's no need to worry about rear trailing arm bushings, the 6 cylinder water pump, Vanos, and fan clutches to name a few things.

But as far as performance, they're mechanically VERY similar to the E30, but they weigh a bit more.

As for a daily driver, with the experience I've had with my TI, they're very reliable.

I dont think buying a car with the intention for major mods is conducive to a reliable daily.

If you want a Ti- get one and rock it. If you want an m50, get a 325 or whatever and rock that. When you start with a swap, you'll be going down the exact same road that you are on now with your e30, just with a different body style. IMHO of course

get a daily driver. It has made owning my M3 over the last year MUCH easier. I would never sell my car, but I am just a college student too...
Put the miles on something else and save your car for the weekends, you will apprechate it much more.

Rob, i was under the impression that swapping an M50 into the E36 would be a completely drop in affair

well, there will always be some issues. But what i'm saying is do you want a reliable daily, or do you want a car more reliable than the turbo car?
