anyone get whole body paint job done?

more interested with those who had a completely different color... what was the damage for a complete paint job?

Don't shoot me.. thinking of going to Maaco.

Bronzit to Dark Gray, or Midnight Blue

the job is extremely difficult to do for any paint shop, the reason is due to the fact that in order to be done correctly the entire car must be gutted inside and out. we are talking A LOT of man hours. So expect to pay out the ass, i was last quoted at 8,500 for a complete respray and that was on the cheap side. glad i did not do that, decided to keep the original color and get that resprayed very happy and came to a little over 2,500 with a little body work.

the only way to do a complete color change and do it properly is to take the car down to nothing. and even then you may be able to tell in certain areas. if youre going maaco stick with fresh bronzit or expect a rolling pile thats worth less than when you started.

its better to find a car that came with that color from the factory, or something close to it.
a maaco job will leave you with a bronzit engine bay and lots of other areas they can't spray, which will look like shit.
like blunt said, the only real way to do a color change is to take the car down to nothing.

If you do another color, do you want them to do the engine bay, jambs(interior), deck lid and hood? Those would be big obstacles that would make you spend a lot more money.

yeah it's a pain in the ass and will devalue your car.

it's only somewhat acceptable if the original colour is black, because having the hidden parts painted black isnt so bad, vs blue on bronzit or something nasty like that.

the car is basically as expensive as the tires it rolls on, so I'm not worried about devaluing the car. It can't get any more devalued haha.

I will go to Maaco and get a quote as to repaint without doing the bay and other hidden seams...

And a quote on how much to do original color.

I definitely am not spending $8k on a car that is worth less than a grand

I recall about $12k on mine for same color, exterior only (no door jambs, under hood, etc.).

I need the roof (and sunroof) repainted and maybe faded in with the rest of the paint, my car's cirrusblau. Would maaco do something for that, as long as I did the masking and most of the prep work myself? Remember, I am only talking the roof. What sort of damage would I be looking at ($-wise and everything else)

Yeah for the whole car, rattle can or roller over maaco

But if you only want to touch it up... I don't think they sell bronzit or cirrusblau rattle cans...

I got a quote from maaco to cut out the rust and paint my car for around 2500.
I'm wondering why would you want to change from bronzit?
