5 series roof rack

I am wondering if the towers can fit on my e30. I have been trying to find a rack but nothing. I found one but it is for a 5 series. Wil it fit?

It'll probably fit. The gutters are basically the same no? You may need to cut the bars down some but that isn't a big deal, I cut mine down about three inches to get a better fit.

Are you talking about an OEM rack or an aftermarket rack?

I have a Barrecrafters rack that fits onto both my E30 and E28. It attaches to the gutters of both cars. All I have to do is unscrew a bolt in the middle and lengthen the distance between each ski rack to fit either car. It should fit if the rack attaches to the gutters, since they're the same.

I am talking both. The 5 series one I am looking at is a BMW oem one though I think.

What 5 series are you talking about?
E28, E34?

E34 and earlier yes, E39 an later no

you need 'Gutter Mount' Towers... that is all

Perfect, I think this might be the info I need. "Gutter mount towers." That should go for Yakima, Thule, or BMW OEM all the same I am sure.

Same costs on both i believe when new. and that is the most basic setup for E30's

Yakima also has their more modern towers that fit on the E30's also, using their Q-Tower setup, this is nice cause it can be adapted to alot more vehicles. However it is more expensive at about $355 msrp for the basic setup.
