Unless they price it close to the Big 4 liter bikes, they are going to have a hard time competing unless it is as good or better than the Italian boutique bikes (Ducati and Aprilia).
It's here and will be available for the public. BMW S 1000 RR Super Bike

btw, how does it work for plates and insurance in the US? Could you guys give me some numbers?
Here it's up to 1030$ for high-risk bikes (whatever that means..) and 518$ for "regular bikes" (like the Z750 I had). Thats per year, and keep in mind that "up north" we can't ride all year long!
Insurance is quite high for the sport bikes, but somewhat cheap for the rest.

Its not to heavy compaired to the other 09's. But its heavy compared to the 04 zx10 (hands down favorite bike I've ever ridden) 370 dry 433 wet with 187 hp. I think the 04 zx10 would shit all over it.
It looks like a fucked up lazy eyed honda f4I84 318I Delphin RIP

It is, but I kinda side with Darwin on this one.
Those who want to ride like idiots, then by all means. I cannot understand what would lead someone to want to ride without a helmet. Heat and looking "cool" are piss poor excuses.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

Okay, BMW finally built somewhat of a competitor for the supersport bike market. Looks are iffy, but numbers a ridiculous!
But... What the fhuch is up with that name? Seriously? 1000RR? I thought this was some photochopped prank at first.
Besides, I'd much rather have the new R1.... Beautiful in every way kinda bike. Headlights on that are also debateable... I feel they look aggressive. Me likey.Claus Luthe is my hero.
