    Junk yard find

Just wanted to share my fluke find over the weekend at the pick n pull.

I was up in Fresno CA visiting the wife's extended family and decided to check out the pick n pull to see if they had an e30 parts cars.

It was friggin hot the temp at around 2pm was in the mid 90's but felt hotter.

The yard wasn't that big compared to the ones in Sac but they had 3 e30's so I grabbed a fog light and a larger toolbox out of a e34.

My brother in law and I were walking around to see what else was worth pulling when I decided to peek inside a passat and to my luck found the following inside.

    Paid $5.99 for it.

At first look I thought to myself "No way is that a husco armrest." sure enough it was but the cup holder was missing but I lucked out again when I went into the back seat to pull the center console out I found the cup holder under the rear seat cushion it has a crack on the front but I'll fix that with some fuzor and it should be good to go.

It's complete with all the brackets and screws to mount it. I'm going to recover it than either keep it in storage or install it into one of my e30's

Just that find alone made the trip to the PnP and the 4 bucks admission fee for my brother in law and myself worth it.

Wish I could have had more time I would have pulled the black interior out of one of the e30's over there which by the way had a clean black perf interior front and rear with comforst seats if anyone is in the area and wanted to pull it out.

        ^^Nice Mossman.

The Pick n Pull's here are $1. They make enough to cover the bills and car buying expense on the volume of customers alone. I doubt they ever have less than 500 people through there a day.

Yes it was 2 bucks but I paid for my Brother-in-law as well.

I was going to take it anyway but just lucked out when I was clearing stuff out to get into the car and saw it.

            Fuck you GadgetGuy.
I wish I could find something cool like that at PnP. Are you going to flip it or keep it?

            SC*AR

LOL, I'm probably going to keep it since I'll probably want it later and end up paying out the a$$ for one like I did with all my other euro parts I'm buying now. Even though I used to get them for way cheaper when I used to import them from Germany.

If the economy wasn't so weak I'd fill a container up with euro parts and ship it state side but I'd hate to be stuck with a container of parts I can't sell.

I see folks who have this armrest but they cover is either cracked or worn so I'm going to use this one as a template to sew up some replacement covers to sell on eBay.

I still wish I had the mtech II steering wheel I sold back a few years ago for 100 bucks and the euro filler plate I threw in the garbage because I thought I was done with e30's.

that armrest is not for an e30. the mount is different. on an e30 the drivers side mount wraps under the ebrake console and holds onto one of the ebrake bolts.

The armrest part is the same as the e30 ones. Husco had different mounting plates depending on the car it was installed in. I'd assume it wasn't e30 mounts since it came out of a passat but it's not rocket science I'm sure a bracket can be fabbed up to make it work. Still a smokin deal for 5.99 when they usually sell for 20 X that or more.
