    A/C question need help!

here is a pic of my old A/C comp.

i just purchased a rotary A/C comp from Buddy (z31maniac) and i am getting ready to install it on my car. while i was doing a Z-3 A/C condenser fan up grade, since i was under the car, i took a good look at my old one with the new one. the new one is longer and the line are in a different spot, (no big deal, the lines will easily reach) i noticed that there was some sort of a pressure switch??? in the actual body of the orginal compressor. can i just bypass it, as the new one does not have one? the wire is there for the A/C clutch, but there is nothing else.

    any help would be great!

    thanks,
    Greg

and thanks buddy for the smokin deal on the comp!

ok this is the a/ccomp i have in the car now:

#5 is a temp switch. that is what i am asking about.

my drier only has the one pressure switch in it unlike the illistration (#18)
                where is the other one?

and lastly how important is the temp switch? can i just bypass it or bridge it?

You need the temp switch, if you are pulling the AC apart you should replace the drier anyways. I suggest getting a dryer that has both switches on it.

#1 is not a dryer, its a baffle so there isn't a vibration the AC system.

You know what, IIRC it would just be another temp switch for the cooling fans. I wouldn't run an A/C system without pressure switches (i doubt you even can anyways) but I would say just try running it without the temp switch plugged in and see if it works.

Theres high side, and low side pressure switches that will turn the AC compressor off if there isn't adequate refrigerant or another problem in the system.

                        edit:

it looks like #18 there must have been 2 styles of driers, the switches would do the exact same thing, you would only have 1 not too. I don't know what I was thinking previously.

that is kind of what i was thinking, but i can't find anything that says it is a temp switch for what? (fans, temp too high causing too much pressure, like a back up for the high pressure switch)

i honestly don't have the cash for a new a/c drier right now either, so i would like to take my chances with the old one (i had been replaced 4 years ago, before i bought the car at the dealer)

yes, the system wont run without the pressure switches.

is this the only fan temp switch?

where is the same switch located if you have this style of comp?

this is the non behr/bosch type.

I would guess its somewhere else in the system. I know the pressure switches are used to cycle the pump, and the temp switch should be for fans. So either its elsewhere in the system, or for whatever reason it doesn't use one.
