just piced up the new GTA: San Andreas earlier today and i've been playin it all day long... it kicks ASS.. the first part of it is bigger than all of vice city put together and theres 3 diffent areas too.. anyone else played it?

Times like this I miss my PS2, too bad it's probably gonna be a year before it comes to the box because of the contract Rockstar signed with Sony. I saw a friend playing it, looked fun.

I got it yesterday morning. Played it alittle.

Frankly I'm getting really sick of it. Every other word the characters speak is "waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles" or "fuck" etc. Gets old fast.

I was worried about that when I saw it was going to be a "ghetto" type game....maybe I will just stick to Vice City?

Vice Ctiy is a far superior game.

I've died several times in San Andreas so far, each time was due to a complete and utter inability to see WTF I was doing and control my guy/car. When the screen gets busy, the FPS drop to unplayable levels. This is a HUGE problem on a console game.

This game was not ready to ship. It needs to be optimized. I might return it and wait for a PC version.

Now I got my copy at 10 am, and played for 14 hours with breaks in between to eat.

The game is amazing in my opinion, and the lag in the FPS rate isn't very often for me, and that isn't going to make me give up the game. It has so much more than Vice City ever had, its imperative you get this game. If you're only going to get one game this year, this is definitely it. Its like The Sims + Grand Theft Auto + everything 90's.

Car control is different, but I don't mind at all. I'm pimping my custom lowrider (black/red pearl custom paint with 18" wires) and just the amount you can do in the game is unmatched. Don't hate on it too much Jordan, its still a very good game compared to others (DRIV3R, which they make fun of in one mission).

I can say the shooting system needs serious work. Thats my only big complaint.

I played it at a friends last night for hours. It is unbelievable how much better and more realistic everything is compared to Vice City (which I just bought 2 weeks ago, doh!). The driving, the fighting, the wrecks, everything is 10x better than the older games. [/code]

What chipset does your PS2 have? A lot of the older ones are having tons of trouble with this game, but the newer (last 2 years) units handle it just fine. I've had no FPS issues on my game.

SA is a whole helluva lot better than VC.

My girlfriend got me it for my birthday (today) have not played it yet since she gave it to me at school (and a lighted shift knob thats sorta ricey but GTA makes it ok).

I cant wait to play it, I hear you can ride BMX bikes in it. Thats Gangsta.
