Audis are the penultimate posuer car.

Seriously, the S4 is the new "Race boy - Wreck it" track car.

Haha! This is so true. Its a real pity these guys are driving around A4/S4's thinking they are the shit when its a fucking Passat with a body kit.

Audi owners are the worst they think they know everything too.

Lol.. what a coincidence.. what attempted to follow me home from work last night?

        An A4 1.8T..

poor bastard.. if his 5 screens, 3 subs and 4 amps weren't enough ballast on him already, he's got an automatic...

oh yeah, that blow off is so worth ~50hp.. right.

sorry, had to rant. Hate the little bastards that get next to me at stoplights thinking they're the big shit because they've got a new car and turbo...

sure do.. just drive like a maniac and it calls all types of attention.

that and sometimes I go looking for it :P

plus, racing in the street is easier when the cops can't catch you :)

                LoL..

that's the otherside of the coin..

I remember when I first bought my car, the previous owner had this hugeass DTM tipped exhaust. no cats, no resonators. It sounded really badass.. but it was too loud (got gutted)

anywho, every little trip in my car was asking for to get harassed. on the way to a friend's house, a fifteen minute drive, no less than 10 civics pulled up at different stoplights to start reving their engines and giving excited looks.

People like to pick on bimmers here. only a few of us actually defend ourselves :)

now i'm not going to argue with you about audi owners (kinda like bmw owners ;)) knowing everything... but the Passat and Audi A4 are really different cars. They have the same platform and share the 1.8t and V6, but other then that they are very different. The passat has more room inside due to the body design and even the AWD 4 motion passat is different then audi's quattro system. The S4's 2.7T is a great motor, and just like the 1.8t, it's easy to upgrade for more power. A simple chip is putting out over 300hp. Haven't seen what's out for the new V8 S4... but won't be as easy to modify with the lack of FI.

as for the "race boy", that will always belong to the E36 M3, and the E36s "rebadged" to be a M ;)

The difference is, the E36 M3 is a very competant track car with a well sorted suspension, and enough of an edge to make the driver work the car still. This is as opposed to the S4, which is an overweight, underbraked plowing pig with AWD, aka the "water wings" like you put on a 1 year old so he doesn't drown in the pool.

hmm guess my point is i hardly ever see A4/S4's out at the track events here. Mostly they stick to Quattro club events which are very enthusiast oriented. When i see the term "race boy", it implies a poser of sorts and the E36 definitely has that tied to it...as does the WRX that are both very popular at events....which is why you see more of those damaged out from a day at the track/autox then Audis.

While the Audi is a heavy car, I for one don't mind the feel of the front biased AWD, but I have yet to get one where i can push it hard on the track. Different strokes for different folks i guess... but you can't argue the grip you get from AWD ;)

oh jeeez...I would love to argue the AWD "grip" but I don't want to get into it. Much less on those S4's the ENTIRE engine is in front of the wheels. That is really good for handling. Oh yea, that is right, I have cornerbalanced a good dozen of these things I wouldn't know how the balance is :D

AWD aka I want to have GRIP, aka I want to go down gravel roads rallying at 80mph not limited to 50 like the wifes 528e that gets loose.

Aka I live where it snows and want to drive when it snows and don't want to be stuck in my driveway like a BIotch!

But when its sunny, RWD rules.

8 years of driving the e30 in the snow with snow tires and sand in the trunk, never gotten it stuck once.

                                Make the black portion blue.
                                Looks nice otherwise.
