well folks, I just got it off... I had to hammer it out from the bottom, and the pin is able to go both ways.
In the new bushing, the holes were way too small. I would've had to hammer it in and out again, so I enlarged the holes to where the pin slides in for the most part (I had to hammer it in anyway once I put the bushing on).
I also greased the pin, and put some rubber in place of the sponge that goes in there. Slop is eliminated!
