    X5 as a Daily?

What do you guys think? I need more of a daily and something that can tow my pos and some height so I don't have to worry about every fucking blemish in the road. I also can't seem to get away from BMWs either. Any imput on reliability, quality, etc? Thanks.

I know gas mileage would be shitty, but yea...i dont get good mpg's in the e30 as it is.

plus I think it would be baller...but I dont want a spontaneous decision

i just sold mine.... yeah it went threw alot of gas with 4.4 v8, but you know it had plenty of power it was fun to drive... comfortable, looked great... parts are kinda expensive, so make sure you find one with lots of maintenance history.. i know my rear subframe bushings were on there way out, thats not a job i would want to takle.
they are fun cars and would make good dd's

has a enormous tank which is awesome, but not on your wallet. The X5 doesn't feel like a SUV when you drive it. They are great and have alot of space.

The 3.0L is actually more reliable of the bunch.

I had one for 6 months, sold it in the spring.
Great truck, just not for me, great for driving or lugging things around, but when i was driving alone i felt bored, so I still drove the e30 in the winter.

                    or an e39 540i w/ 6spd? I don't think you'd want to tow a trailer behind that though.

The rest of the world manages to tow heavy shit without buying SUVs and pickups.

I owned an '02 X5 4.4i for just over a year. Of all the BMW's I have owned, I seriously regret having to sell it at the time-it was my definite favorite. Parts are a bit on the high side and running premium unleaded during the summer when gas prices shoot up gets very expensive, but they don't drive like an SUV. Power is really good, handling is excellent for a larger vehicle, and it has a lot of room inside.

                            I hate SUV's, but I would own another X5 in a heartbeat.

3.0 manual though. Wife drives a 2.5 and when we drove up to Washington through the mountains with a cargo hatch full still never felt like it was straining.
