X5 as a Daily?

sorry, for the first post and not replying. i have been on the road for the passed few days. will the e39 touring tow as good as an x5...that is one of the main reasons, also...my slammed e30 is a fucking nightmare to drive on a daily bases.

and i think ill do the v8, unless that motor is liable to break...the 3.0l 6 seems to be just alittle underpowered for the wieght.

The X5 is far superior to the 5 series in the towing department.

The X5 has more mass (900-1100 lbs), a heavier duty chassis, higher suspension load rating, longer wheelbase, and better visibility. It is designed to tow 6000 pounds vs just 3500. On the later models the X5 even has a special towing program in the stability system.

If you are only towing small utility trailers and jetskis, then you'll be fine with the 5er

If you want to tow a car trailer or boat or enclosed trailer you're going to want the X5, especially for longer distances.
