My ex loved going for drives in mine, but absolutely hated it after I had her help me redo the brakes. HP+ and gf were not a great combo. She did hate me spending time and money on car stuff and hanging out with my car friends instead of her, nor did she understand me going on a two day road trip to help a friend with car trouble. She was a seriously needy girl....and has been the ex for a good while.

That, and she minorly vandalized both my scoob and my E30 a month after we broke up. WTF?!?

I have a little of this going on, but some understanding too. She likes to ride in it and occasionally drive it, but she loses intrest when shit breaks.

Same here - she likes to ride in it and drive it occasionally (but is scared it will break or get damaged when she is driving) - but when it is broke and/or needs $$ put into it then she isn't such a fan. She hates the 7 series master cylinder I have in it right now and thinks the brakes are dangerous, so she hasn't driven it in awhile.

Especially now that it is a 3rd car and we have a 7 month old, I'm starting to hear the word "sell" more often.

Hates it. Always asked why I just dont drive the "new BMW". Calls the e30s the "old loud BMW". When I go to shows I always get "your hanging around with those silly BMW people again arent you". Always gets upset when I have them out in the yard "What will the neighbors think".

Rachel (the wife) is not a big fan of the "old BMW". She's pretty suportive of maintanence/repairs, but gets a little bothered by the fequncey of them. She HATES riding in the car tho. (no A/C, radio, or seat heaters aka "tushy warmers")

Don't let something material come between you and your girl. I mean E30's are great and wonderful, I have a very strong love for them but they are replaceable. My girl isn't....

sure it took you alot of hard work, money, and hella long hours of back aching work but i'm sure some of the older guys on here knows it takes 10k times that to find a good woman

My GF likes the e30 as a car, but she has absolutly no interest in cars or driving. It's my thing, though, and she doesn't give me any crap about it. Any kind of spirited driving kinda scares her too, but she tolerates it.

True, but if your woman doesnt understand that you need a hobby, and let you do what makes you happy, what else is she going to try to make you stop doing? My wife knows that she is to never.......ever tell me to get rid of my cars. I let her do whatever the hell she wants, and she has the same respect for me. Thats what makes a relationship work IMO. As long as I spend as much $$$$ on her as I do me, we are both happy.
