e30 '90325iC its eating too much gas

how's everyone doing? I purchased an e30 about a month ago. I am having some issues with the MPG on the car. the car was converted from 2.5L to 2.7L and the camshaft was change into 288 and it has a Dinan D900-2532. I understand that with all those upgraded items the car would lessen the MPG a lil' bit. However, last saturday i had it full tank. while looking at the gas meter awhile ago the gas was already in the mid range and the car has only traveled 44MILES. What should i do?

btw, i changed the oil 2 weeks ago.
the car is running in about 3k-4k RPM

    Thank you for reading

are you sure the gauge is right? or you're not leaking gas out? I don't think it would even be possible to run that rich.

i don't think there's a leak. for the gauge, i am not too sure if it's working fine.

The fastest way to check the gauge is to just go the the gas station and fill up. If you only fill up about two gallons, then the gauge is bad. If you fill up half a tank, then something else is wrong.

What you should do is, carry a gas tank with a couple gallons of gas and keep it in your trunk. Drive and drive and drive and drive until your car actually RUNS OUT of gas, not what your gas gauge says. Mine was all goofy like, like yours. Then, once you run out of gas..yup, that's right, put the gas from your trunk into your car and BAM! You know know how messed up your gauge is and how many miles you can go.

            ^dangerous.

just head to the station and fill up and see how much it takes..

then while the car is running (outside the garage and on open cement away from other cars or people) leave it running a while in one spot and check under and around the car for leaks.... if no leaks
if all of the above checks out fine and you dont smell gas
you have something really fucked up............... with the tune
            check injectors and such

Is the car pumping out black smoke? Is raw gas leaking out your tailpipe?
If no, you're probably not using that much gas.

Do you have a 12 button OBC? Check the liters and the range.

EDIT: That alpina sticker is stealing your fuel.

another benefit to running your car until it runs out of gas is then you might have the great opurtunity to clean pre/filters and replace other filters and if crap gets passed those you can update your injectors instead of cleaning

^ running your car until you run out of gas will fuck up your fuel pump. Dont do it. Swap in another fuel level sender from the pick ur part

haha the alpina sticker is stealing the fuel....tsk tsk

                      no black smoke

it's just weird... so last night when i started the car the mileage duration was 233Miles left. after driving a mile towards CVS in order to buy something, it read 227. after buying some stuff i started the car again and so it reads 227. after i arrived at my house the mileage duration was decreased to 221. I am really worried about the car..
so that's like a total of 2 miles driving but after reading the OBC there was approximately 12miles less ....

btway, the smell of the gas is so rich.

That would have been good to know. You're leaking somewhere.

I'll bet it's leaking somewhere behind the firewall, maybe the fuel rail connection. On other words, you need to get a fire extinguisher ASAP until you fix this. I don't wanna see another Toasty30.

More details... Is the maintenance up to par? Plugs wires and distributer block, as well as the O2 sensor? Injectors clean? new fuel filter?

Basically before you hopped it up when was the last tune up done?
