    help identify part

I tried finding it on bav with no luck. Its the rubber piece on the firewall, anyone have a name for it and a part number, or where to pick one up? I've seen a few m20's with the e36 plastic piece, do those fit and how much modification, if any is needed?

    thanks

It's called the M3 Wire Cover. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this only came on M3's.

    Part #3

e30s are like fat girls that USED to be hot, you just gotta work them out to make them hot again.

It doesn't. That's why we said it only works on M3's and 318is's. With a bit of modification (maybe drilling a few holes or shaving back some plastic) I'm sure it will work. With a bit of modification, everything will work.

so to answer your question "how does this part fit", however you make it fit.

Dont go telling storys unless you have used it yourself.

                It fits fine..

wow you guys are way off. the picture is of a standard blower motor cover, not the M3/318 wire cover.

i thought that looked different than the M3

as for modding it to fit, thats not a problem at all...

I don't think I "went off telling stories" I said might be wrong, since I don't have this piece. Just trying to help him out, don't take it personally

It actually depends what motor and year. It won't fit easily on my 87 (takes some modding and bending, it is real tight behind the intake manifold and the firewall), but on Dillsnick's 91 it seems to fit in perfectly. If you have an eta, I am not sure, but I would imagine due to the smaller runners on the intake manifold, it would fit easier.
Now, Nando is right, you are pointing to the blower cover. They sell cf covers on many performance part sites, but they won't cover up your wiring.
Oh and Andrew, that quote above is a story. You shouldn't tell it unless you are sure.
                        Yours truly,

as a side note, I thought those CF covers were pretty stupid - until I pulled mine to replace the wiper motor. that thing is surprisingly heavy! for such a small peice, I'd estimate somewhere around 8lbs.
