Clean well sorted chassis no wires and what not hanging. Yes if E30Matt's 318iS sold for $5500 then yes it would be worth it to right buyer.

That is problem with project cars, unless the chassis is in high demand you never generally get your cash back out of them.

I was happy when I sold my old Scirocco II that had 2 engine swaps done to it. I did recover most of my money back. The engine that was built for went tits up like 4 months later. I would have snapped.
