Seeing as you drive around on r-comps, I'm inclined to believe you.

When I had RS2s on my last car they lasted about 7k, I should have changed them at 6k and I ran them until 8k. Then it started to rain and I had to get new ones, 70 on the freeway on cording RS2s with camber wear and zero tread sure was fun while it lasted. :p

What are they again? They kind of looked like yokos or NT01s IIRC.

How many miles have you got on 'em?

        Edit:

        ...I'm gonna go with A048s.

Some E30s came with Pirelli P6, others came with Continentals of some sort. Probably others were used too.

Nice, still a little too rich for my blood though--I'll probably wind up with Star Specs or RE11s.

Still, hard to believe they've put up with that much. Are you driving like a grandma or something? ;) What's your alignment like, and how much life do they have left in 'em?

Not really all that expensive. I can get them for $150 a tire, I might get a year out of them (12000 miles total I'm guessing, summer only) if their current wear is any indication, and they'll still be good for track/autox after that. The other 15" tires available don't really pique my interest, maybe the RS-3 but it wasn't out at the time I got these. My BFGs were around the same price.

they get way more beat up on the track, the only thing I could see killing them is heat cycles, but I'm not racing competitively. My last alignment showed -2.5 degrees on the FL tire, -3.3 degrees on the FR (I took some out though, the toyos didn't need as much), and -2.0 in the back. toe is perfect. I don't drive like an asshole (most of the time) but I don't drive like granny either. I rotate after every track/autox day.

I just don't expect high performance tires to last 30,000 miles, and I wouldn't want tires that were that hard anyway - my wifes tires are probably 600 treadwear, but they are so hard the tires will harden and crack before 60% of the tread is gone, what's the point in that? My yokohamas didn't last 10,000 before they were scary, the azenis were the same. the BFG KDWs would have probably done 15-18k but they were discontinued in 15", or I would have bought another set.

plus running these tires allows me to have one less set of wheels, it's nice to drive up to a track/autox and not have to change anything. that's also ~$500 a year less in hoosiers I'm buying. :p
