    Me vs. E46 M3

I ran my brothers friends E46 M3 yesterday just for comparison. It's a 2003 steel gray with Schnitzer's really sweet SSK. We started at about 10mph, and I pulled a bit through 1st and 2nd. He caught me in 3rd and pulled about a half car-length and I stayed right with him until 125-130mph. Immeasurable difference.

It made my day. He said it made his day too.

Can't wait to do chip and injectors. 8)

just about like Ian's dad's SMG and alex's car before injectors and software. I'm jealous, I wanna run with e46 M3s

        badass...
those cars are fast, but it's cool to see an E30 keeping up and giving them a run for their $60k pricetag, in a <$15k car

...the best driver...the e30s suspension, no matter how modded is of a "lesser" design...it takes skill to drive an e30 fast...its easier with the newer cars but the power of the m3 makes it tricky too... imho its an apples an oranges comparison

I'll venture out and say that it is damn hard to keep up with a e46 M3 in the twisties. The lap times of the M3 on big time tracks are in the same range as supercars...

My buddy has a e46 M3 that he tracks regularly with mild mods and a Bilstein PSS9 coilover system, and he's taking ferraris with ease (seen videos), but then again, his driving skills are downright ridiculous.

He does things in that car that make ME nervous, and i drive my bimmer sideways halfway to work sometimes.

Though he did say he wasn't crazy enough to take his fathers $105K S55 AMG, turn off ESP and start throwing the, and i quote "tail end of a 105,000 dollar piece of machinery all over 47th street"

Dad, if you happen to read this, this isn't true, it was a dream i had a few nights ago.

This thread is about straight line acceleration.

Cornering abilities is all in the driver.

When are you going to take to it the drag strip??

I think some video footage should also be in order...... at the strip or on the street cruisin!

Yes, I can definantly vouch for the rippage of stu's car. I happened to hear/see it today on my way to school, and it really rips. We weren't anything close to racing...but when he gave it some juice, I did as well and in less than seconds he was well, and I mean well ahead of me. This is in a mildly modified E36 325is. I have no doubts at all that with proper tuning, and the rest of the goodies it will be insane.

Ha, I saw Stu leave Turkey Tech at Motorsport Connections on Saturday afternoon followed by the E46 M3 and about a minute or two after they left you could hear the two of them get on it REAL hard! It sounded so awesome. I wish I saw it!
