    Bonneville speed Measurement ??

How do they measure the speed at the Bonneville salt flats? A link to the information would be wonderful.

    thanks.

Begining and end timers, on a flying mile. Average of two runs, one in each direction.

The link doesnt really give any information, that i am looking for. i am looking for the actual workings of the speed sensors. so they average the speed over the entire course ( i.e. you could be going 200 mph at one point but ur speed would still be less than 200mph because for most of the track you were getting up to speed) or do they do intervals ( i.e. they measure speeds at certain points, like at a 1/4 mile track trap speed)

No they don't use spped sensors. it is a timing clock. Didn't I already say that once?

Yeah. They are only clocked for the top speed mile with allowance to gain/lose speed before/after said mile.

They take a running start, get up to speed, clear 2-3 miles, get timed for how long it takes to go one mile, then they have two plus miles for slowing down.
